Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program
It's not too late to participate in the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program, coupons are still available for 2015. The link for an application is below.
If you have already submitted an application for the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program for 2015, coupons were mailed on July 6th. A list of participating farm stands and markets was included with the coupons, you may also find this information at the link below.
The Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program provides $50 worth of coupons to eligible adults 60 years of age or over to purchase locally grown, fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and honey from local farmers.
You are eligible if you:
a. Are 60 years of age or older by June 1, 2015
b. Are a resident of Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Henry, Lucas, Ottawa, Paulding, Sandusky, Seneca, Williams, or Wood County, or the city of Fostoria, Ohio and
c. Have an annual income of:
i. $0 - $21,775 if you live alone
ii. $0 - $29,471 for a household of two
iii. Please see application for income guidelines for households of 3 or more
You may download and print an application here, pick up an application from a local senior center or call our office for assistance. Please return your completed application to our office, promptly. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
We are expeditiously processing applications to mail $50 worth of coupons just in time for the abundant amount of produce available in July and August. Even after we start mailing coupons, we will continue to process new applications and mail coupons, if available.
This project has been funded at least in part with Federal funds from the US Department of Agriculture and the support of the Ohio Department of Aging and the Area Office on Aging of Northwestern Ohio, Inc.
