New Eyes for the Needy purchases new prescription eyeglasses for low-income individual's in the US through a voucher program.

To be eligible for our program, applicants must:

-Be in financial need

-Have a recent (within one year) eye exam. New eyes does not pay for eye exams. Copy must be sent with application.

-Have no other resources avalable to them to pay for glasses, including federal or state programs or assistance from local charitable organizations.

IMPORTANT: New Eyes for the Needy is unable to accept individual applications for eyeglass vouchers. Due to a decline in funding and an increase in requests for assistance, New Eyes has close to 900 people on a wait list for vouchers.

If you have a social worker or agency that you work with, they may be able to help you submit an application.

Individuals can apply for a voucher for new eyeglasses through a social service agency or school nurse. Check the website for participating agencies in your area.

Agency applications will be reviewed. If approved, the agency will receive a voucher for the client in 10-12 weeks.

Do not order your glasses until you receive the voucher.

No wait for children. All others 6 weeks.

Must submit agency application complete with referring agency contact details.
